A n URGENT first - a V Spot PSA: It has come to our attention that overuse of LLMs in public is becoming a social nuisance and a hazard to our health. Good evening, fellow citizens of ecommerce. This is the first ever midweek V Spot Public Service Announcement, because well, we needed one.
Today’s topic: Using your Large Language Model in public. Or, as some of you seem to treat it… your emotional-support dog with Wi-Fi.
First up: Please keep your LLM on a leash. The closer to you as you walk the better. Remember also, the leash is for you to give yourself just enough rope.
Second: Keep a muzzle on your LLM. Barking mad in public is not a classy look on anyone and although your little pooch may not bite, its bark especially its LInkedIn one, can be very annoying.
Next: Occasionally, your LLM may embarrass you by soiling itself in public. This appears to be a common train among modern GPTs, clean up after them, after all they are not human and don’t know the difference.
A prompt is not just for Linkedin, it’s for life. It ain’t going no where. So if you are into that fancy french tickler, remember, they are on to you.
If your prompt jumps up on strangers linkedin posts, take it down, get it down. Do not let them jump up without permission or guidance. JJust cos they think its ok to to give a POV, it is probably not what the author wanted, nor what you wanted to say.
If your LLM bumps into another to sniff around its DB, its ok, they have been doing this to each other for years. In fact, they need this for survival.
LLMs can be playful and fun but should not be trusted around children. Not now, not ever.
LLMs are a new breed. We still don’t know what they are like, only that they seem to want to be here in great numbers and around us all of the time. We all love out pets but usually cos it is a one way power trip.
So our advise to you folks, as you think through your agentic lifestyle is to heed these warnings, because like many of you on the walk of life, we have stepped in that doo too one too many times and it smells like …
